"It's almost impossible to figure out where to start raving about the gameplay in Allegiance. That's how good it is. " -- Firing Squad
Allegiance is a team-oriented online multiplayer space combat simulation with real-time strategy (RTS) elements. It could be described as a much-improved "X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter." Whereas most multiplayer online games have a very simplistic concept of teamwork, if any, Allegiance distinguishes itself by having a strategy interface that demands teamwork in order to accomplish anything. Despite all these advancements, Allegiance still works great on a Pentium 2 computer with a 56k modem. The game is free to download, and free to play, but you must have an internet connection. One thing I would like to warn you about, this game has a very steep learning curve and may take several months to fully understand tecnology paths and strategies. However, there is a sister web site, called
The Academy that will explain everything you need to know. (Like how to use a nanite) I highly recommend reading this, and doing the game tutorials. There is also an on-line course, the @Cadet program, that you can sign up for to learn to fly like a pro very quickly. I highly recommend it. Skip the Academy and tutorials, and you WILL be slaughtered by everyone, including me. Or you can join the @Cadet program and be one of the best! I recommend getting involved in a squad once you get an understanding of the game. Squad games are played on Sundays, if scheduled. My in-game name is "mesial". See you there!
